Super Intelligence in EO 14434: A Federal Terminology Note

Executive Order 14434, Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence, was signed September 29, 2026 and published October 2 as Federal Register document 2026-20321. Section 2 directs federal executive departments and agencies to use Super Intelligence (SI) instead of AI in executive branch communications and non-statutory documents, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

Section 3 ties SI to the existing AI definition in 15 U.S.C. 9401(3), except where law provides otherwise. Its requested legislative proposal is not an enacted replacement definition. Section 2 does not require altering previously issued regulations, contracts or grants.

In plain terms, that statute describes machine-based systems working toward human-set objectives to produce predictions, recommendations or decisions affecting physical or digital environments. It also describes using machine and human inputs to perceive environments, model those perceptions and infer options for information or action.

Why Filmito still says AI

Our reading: this is an executive branch terminology direction, not a general commercial rebranding requirement. Filmito continues to say AI filmmaking and AI video ads. This note explains terminology, not system capabilities. General information, not legal advice.
