AI Commercial Ideas for 12 Industries (With the Shot List)
“A specification is a list of what the product has. A story is what the customer's week looks like with it.”
An AI commercial idea for any industry comes from the same place: one feeling the customer already has, one small story that carries it, and three shots that take the viewer from that feeling to the product. Below are twelve, one per industry, each with the shot list and the emotion it sells. They are generic on purpose: steal them, adapt them, or send them to us.
We have delivered 2,000+ ads from Ahmedabad since 2017, AI-directed since 2023, so we have opinions. The short version: the engine does not matter to the viewer. The story does.
Why story beats specification
A specification is a list of what the product has. A story is what the customer's week looks like with it. Every brand in a category has roughly the same spec list, so an ad that reads it out is interchangeable, and the viewer's thumb knows it.
There is also a production reason. In our experience a single generated take holds reliably for roughly five to eight seconds before it drifts, so films are cut from short takes anyway. On-screen text inside generated footage garbles, so price, offer and feature list go in as supers in post. Three short beats, one emotion, product at the end: that shape fits how the footage actually gets made.
Our clearest example is on filmito.io/en/case-studies/be-the-kaptaan. A beer brand sent us one photograph of the can. It became a 72-second brand epic plus three retargeting films, because one character carried the story across eras. Nobody asked for the strength on the label in the first frame.
“When audiences remember the stories, they can never forget the product.”
Things you can hold: ecommerce, beauty, pet, automotive
Ecommerce: the box that opens twice
Concept: a parcel arrives and is opened by the buyer. A week later the same box is opened by the person it was bought for. Emotion: anticipation.
- Shot 1: doorstep, late afternoon light, a hand lifts the box.
- Shot 2: kitchen table, the product lifted out, a small smile, the box closed again with a ribbon.
- Shot 3: a different doorstep, a different hand, the box opens on a face. Product name in post.
Beauty: the hallway mirror
Concept: a woman walks past the hallway mirror every morning without stopping. One morning she stops for two seconds, then goes. Emotion: quiet confidence.
- Shot 1: morning, hallway, she passes the mirror at a walk.
- Shot 2: bathroom, the product, two seconds of routine, no voiceover.
- Shot 3: the hallway again, she stops, looks, a small nod, walks on.
Pet: the 6 AM shift
Concept: the whole morning routine filmed from the dog's height, ending at the bowl. Emotion: loyalty.
- Shot 1: camera at knee height, a closed bedroom door, a paw, the door gives.
- Shot 2: kitchen, the bag, the bowl, the wait, a tail in the corner of frame.
- Shot 3: noon, the dog asleep on the porch, job done.
Automotive: the first drive home
Concept: not the car on a mountain road. The car in a driveway at night, the owner sitting in it one extra minute before going inside. Emotion: earned.
- Shot 1: dealer lot at dusk, keys handed over, no dialogue.
- Shot 2: highway, interior only, relaxed hands on the wheel, one song.
- Shot 3: driveway, engine off, the owner breathes, then opens the door.
Things you sign up for: SaaS, fintech, education, fitness
SaaS: one tab at five
Concept: a single desk across one workday, and the mess that never arrives. Emotion: relief.
- Shot 1: 9 AM, coffee, one browser tab open.
- Shot 2: 1 PM, lunch at the desk, still one tab.
- Shot 3: 5 PM, chair pushed back, screen dark, product name on the black.
Fintech: the notification she ignored
Concept: a small 'you saved' alert keeps lighting up a phone while its owner is busy living. She never checks it, because she does not have to. Emotion: calm.
- Shot 1: phone face up on a cafe table, the screen lights, she is laughing with a friend.
- Shot 2: phone in a jacket pocket on a bike ride, one soft chime.
- Shot 3: night, the phone on a nightstand, the total glows, she is asleep.
Education: the question at dinner
Concept: a kid asks a hard question at dinner and the parent honestly does not know. The next evening the kid explains it back. Emotion: wonder.
- Shot 1: dinner table, the question, the parent's honest shrug.
- Shot 2: a desk, one lamp, the kid leaning into a tablet.
- Shot 3: the next dinner, the kid drawing on a napkin, the parent leaning in this time.
Fitness: day 40
Concept: no before and after. The same boring set on day 1, day 20 and day 40, and the only thing that changes is they stop checking the clock. Emotion: pride.
- Shot 1: day 1, 6 AM, eyes on the wall clock between reps.
- Shot 2: day 20, same set, one glance.
- Shot 3: day 40, same set, no glance, the clock soft in the background.
Places you go and rules you follow: restaurants, real estate, travel, pharma
Restaurants: the corner table
Concept: the same corner table through three seasons, different people, same warmth. Emotion: belonging.
- Shot 1: rain on the window, a first date at the corner table.
- Shot 2: summer, the same table, a kid's birthday, too many balloons.
- Shot 3: winter, an old man alone, the waiter brings his usual without asking.
Real estate: where the light lands at seven
Concept: an empty apartment, the sun moving through it over one day, no people, until one coffee cup on the sill implies a life. Emotion: possibility.
- Shot 1: dawn, sunlight crossing a bare floor.
- Shot 2: midday, a beam on the kitchen counter, dust in the air.
- Shot 3: evening, one cup on the sill, the view. Address in post.
Travel: the photo nobody took
Concept: the parts of a trip that never reach the feed. Emotion: freedom.
- Shot 1: a wrong turn down a narrow lane, a laugh.
- Shot 2: two people under an awning in a downpour, sharing something warm from a paper bag.
- Shot 3: dusk, a stranger points the way, they walk off, no phone comes out.
Pharma: the Tuesday chess game
Concept: a condition told through a habit that goes missing and comes back. Emotion: continuity. For regulated work: MLR-aware scripts, references and supers built into the masters, no recognizable real faces, no generated person derived from a real individual.
- Shot 1: park bench, the chess set laid out, one side empty.
- Shot 2: a kitchen table, the conversation shown as hands and a calendar, indication and safety supers in post.
- Shot 3: the bench again, both players seated, the first move.
Where these ideas will not work
Honest tradeoffs, ours included. If your ad needs your real founder on camera, real customers saying real things, or the actual app screen, shoot that with a camera. We can build generated footage around it, but the core should be real, and we will tell you so.
If your concept depends on legible text inside the footage, a menu board, a dashboard, that text goes in as a post layer anyway, so plan the shots around a feeling and let the layer do the reading. And if the point of the ad is that it was made with AI, skip all twelve. They work because nobody watching will think about how they were made.
From a brief to a first cut
Here is what happens when one of these goes to filmito.io/en/see-your-ad. You send the product, a photo or a link, and the feeling you want the viewer left with. We reply within one business day with the idea, the price and the date. Most of the concepts above fit a 15-second or 30-second film: $595 or $895 on the Launch tier, first cut in three days, two revision rounds included, full usage rights on delivery, no retainer, no sales call. The full list is on filmito.io/en/pricing.
One number worth knowing before you plan the calendar: across 742 of our projects with versioned cuts, the median approval was cut 3.0, and 66.2% were approved by cut 3, the first cut plus the two included rounds. The breakdown is on filmito.io/en/ai-ads-report. A brief that names the feeling gives everyone less to argue about.
